Job Description
As a Software Developer in Test (SDET) at AKKO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the software products we offer to our customers. Here's what you can expect in your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Define risk-based test plans and acceptance criteria in collaboration with Product/Engineering, translating user stories into clear test cases.
- Build and maintain automated tests using tools like Cypress/TypeScript across E2E, integration, and API layers, creating reusable utilities/page objects and stabilizing flaky tests.
- Implement and manage CI/CD test gates (smoke/regression) with parallelization and clear pass/fail signals, while tracking coverage and test health metrics.
- Conduct targeted manual/exploratory testing for new features, edge cases, and UX flows, as well as drive regression testing for critical paths.
- Manage test data, mocks/fixtures, and environment configurations to ensure tests are deterministic and fast.
- Collaborate with engineers to reproduce, triage, and debug issues, verifying fixes and preventing regressions.
- Own post-deployment smoke testing and release sign-off for web and mobile apps, documenting results and risks.
- Continuously improve the QA/SDET toolchain and practices including coding standards, coverage goals, flake budgets, and reporting dashboards.
To be qualified for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software or related field (advanced degrees are a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in software testing with a strong foundation in functional/regression testing and modern test design techniques.
- Hands-on experience in testing web applications and mobile apps end-to-end, including UX/UAT and bug verification across various browsers and devices.
- 2+ years of focused experience in test automation, designing scalable frameworks, and CI integration.
- Proficiency in Cypress (preferred), JavaScript/TypeScript, and API testing tools like Postman, Newman, supertest, REST/GraphQL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab, and basics of Docker, environment management, and secrets.
- Strong analytical skills, fluency in SDLC/Agile methodologies, and experience in producing clear documentation and communicating risks effectively.
- Experience in writing and maintaining automated tests with a focus on reliability and maintainability, particularly with Cypress.
This contract position is immediately available and requires working during EST (New York, USA) hours from 9 AM to 5 PM. International applicants are welcome to apply.
Additionally, AKKO values are centered around:
- Embrace Relentless Ownership
- Move Fast, Build Smart
- Win Together
- Focus On Outcomes, Not Activity
- Earn Trust Every Day
