Job Description

As an experienced Network Test Engineer with strong Python coding ability, your role will involve validating high-performance, enterprise-grade networking features. You will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test plans and automation scripts for L2/L3 networking features from scratch. Additionally, you will develop and enhance test automation frameworks using Python, integrating with tools such as PyATS and Pytest. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Validating protocols and features across L2 and L3 protocols
  • Performing validation across different layers of a Core/Edge router and Data Center switch
  • Executing system-level, regression, performance, and stress testing for high-throughput networking platforms
  • Working on Cisco NxOS, IOS, XR, XE, or equivalent NOS
  • Validating containerized network solutions using Docker and Linux OS
  • Collaborating with developers, support, and system architects to debug and resolve complex networking issues
  • Participating in agile ceremonies, daily scrums, and sprint reviews for feature testing and delivery

Qualifications required for this role include:

  • 12-15 years of experience in network testing and automation
  • Strong hands-on experience in Python programming
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks such as Pytest and Robot Framework
  • Solid understanding and testing experience with Layer 2 (VLAN, LACP, vPC, Spanning Tree, VXLAN, MacSec) and Layer 3 (OSPF, BGP EVPN, Layer-3 virtualization)
  • Familiarity with MPLS, Transport bridging, PBB, DHCP, ACLs, QoS
  • Working knowledge of Linux OS and scripting
  • Experience in validating high-speed Ethernet interfaces (10/25/40/100 Gbps)
  • Familiarity with Cisco OS platforms (NX-OS, IOS, etc) and merchant silicon (ASICs)
  • Proven experience in Traffic testing and Validation using IXIA and Trex
