Job Description
As a Staff Product Designer at Acquia, you will be a strategic leader who shapes experiences across digital products by bridging strategy and execution. You will set the standard for communication and craft while influencing discovery, leading working groups, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring accessibility in design. Your role will involve mentorship, culture building, and effective communication within the team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Strategic Leadership & Business Impact**
- Influence Discovery: Understand the business case deeply to influence early-phase needs during discovery.
- Working Group Leadership: Hold leadership in at least one internal working group to ensure growth and connection across the team.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage stakeholders for product improvements and drive new project initiatives.
- **Execution, Craft & Accessibility**
- Accessibility (A11y) First: Maintain a design process that puts Accessibility first without compromising quality.
- Unbiased Prototyping: Select the right artifact for each project stage to remove bias and ensure high-quality testing.
- Reliable Delivery: Set schedules for task completion, meet deadlines, and assist teammates in meeting theirs.
- Collaborative Planning: Proactively identify and address scheduling problems with Team Leads.
- **Mentorship, Culture & Communication**
- Communication Standards: Set high communication standards to allow everyone on the team to contribute.
- Intentional Inquiry: Always seek to create shared understanding and alignment by asking "why."
- Feedback Ecosystem: Create an environment conducive to feedback and adapt critique style based on the designer's experience level.
**Qualifications Required:**
- 5+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating strategic impact and complex problem-solving.
- Figma Expertise: Extensive experience in using Figma for developing concepts, prototypes, and hi-fidelity designs.
- AI-Accelerated Design: Expertise in leveraging AI tools like Figma Make and Gemini for design refinement and rapid prototyping.
- Pacesetter Mindset: Ability to differentiate work through innovation and critical thinking.
- Systems Thinking: Experience in leading initiatives spanning multiple teams or systems.
- Mentorship Experience: Actively mentor teammates and identify growth opportunities.
- Operational Awareness: Ability to apply familiar processes and experiment with new techniques.
