Job Description
As a Staff Engineer, Software at Celestica, your role involves developing, debugging, testing, deploying, and supporting code for various applications and systems. You will write, debug, maintain, and test software in multiple languages across different levels in the hierarchy. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including designers, customers, and project leadership, is essential to ensure high-quality product development. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing technical leadership to the compute team
- Developing and reviewing Linux device drivers and diagnostic firmware
- Releasing documents work according to procedures and design specifications
- Managing software changes using revision control and issue tracker tools
- Participating in technical discussions and code reviews
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, P4, and other low-level languages
- Familiarity with CPU, DPU, memory, NICs, and board monitoring elements
- Experience with GPU programming using libraries like CUDA and ROCm
- Deep understanding of networking protocols and concepts
- Proficiency in debugging and testing to resolve software and hardware issues
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Experience with SmartNICs and cloud computing architectures is a plus
- Clear communication skills to articulate requirements effectively
The physical demands of this position include working in a normal office environment, extended periods of sitting, visual concentration on a computer monitor, and occasional travel. The typical experience required for this role is 10 to 15 years, along with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.
