Role Overview:
As a PRODUCT/PLATFORM SOFTWARE ARCHITECT at HARMAN Automotive, you will be responsible for defining the software architecture of telematics, infrastructure, or cyber security products within the Harman Automotive Division. Your role will involve driving the software solutions for next-generation computational needs, collaborating with internal peers to meet customer needs, and shaping product architecture and strategy. Your position will require technical expertise in various connectivity technologies and a deep understanding of the ecosystem and use cases that drive the business. You will play a key role in leading the technical direction and architecture for system hardware and software in customer engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and drive software architecture for relevant Connectivity SBU products at India and collaborate with the engineering team
- Drive Telematics software solutions for future computational needs and contribute to the evolution of IP in the field
- Participate in defining product, supplier, and customer requirements during the burden/specification process
- Develop end-to-end solutions and system architectures, including clear design parameters, cost evaluation, and business case input
- Investigate and explore future technologies in AI and other connectivity domains to incorporate into the product roadmap
- Recommend implementation standards and design patterns that support information security and regulatory compliance objectives
- Lead technical communication with internal and external teams, representing the software design team in projects
- Lead hands-on development of prototypes, setups, evaluations, and troubleshooting
- Scout for new technologies, review current trends, and find solutions for cross-application
- Represent Harman Connectivity SBU in technical symposiums and tradeshows globally
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors degree in electrical/electronics, communications, computer engineering, or a similar discipline
- 13+ years of experience in product development, system/embedded software, and connectivity technologies
- Deep technical expertise in Telematics and Communications, with core knowledge in embedded, cloud/edge, and mobile software applications
- Experience in architecting end-to-end solutions involving embedded devices, cloud applications, and mobile applications
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate architectural issues and concepts
- Willingness to travel up to 20%, domestic and international travel
- Ability to work remotely full-time with occasional trips to the office location as needed
