Sr Analyst - Data Science (Finance)

As a Sr Analyst - Data Science (Finance) at Momentive Business Services (MBS), you will be an integral part of the Global Finance Shared Services Team in India, supporting the Commercial Finance team in designing and implementing advanced statistical models to forecast key financial metrics such as Sales Volume, Cost, Pricing, Revenue, and Inventory trends by Segment and Region. Your role will require you to be proactive, data-driven, and bring deep analytical expertise to improve business insights and support data-driven decision-making.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• **Advanced Predictive Modeling:** Develop and refine predictive models using statistical methods like regression, time series analysis, and machine learning to forecast financial performance across key metrics.
• **Comprehensive Data Preparation:** Perform data cleaning, transformation, and organization to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in analytics and modeling.
• **Statistical Analysis:** Conduct detailed statistical analysis to uncover trends, correlations, and patterns within complex datasets for actionable insights.
• **Data Visualization and Reporting:** Interpret and visualize statistical findings through tools like Tableau and MS Excel to present insights to stakeholders.
• **Database Design and Management:** Design, develop, and maintain databases to support efficient data storage, management, and retrieval.
• **Cross-functional Collaboration:** Work closely with the Commercial Finance Leader and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of analytical insights with business goals.
• **Process Improvement and Innovation:** Seek opportunities to optimize data processes, enhance forecast accuracy, and evolve analytics capabilities within the Commercial Finance team.

**Qualifications Required:**

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in applied mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis within a business finance setting.
• Strong expertise in Data Visualization tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced skills in Big Data, Data Structures, and Machine Learning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Java for data manipulation and model building.
• Familiarity with business finance processes, particularly within commercial finance functions.
• Advanced Communication skills.
