Software Engineer - Java - Intermediate

As a software engineer at Equifax, you will be part of a dynamic team working on various impactful projects using cutting-edge technology. Your role involves collaborating with talented engineers, contributing to unfamiliar code, diagnosing and resolving performance issues, and ensuring operational excellence, security, and scalability of high-scale applications. You will apply modern software development practices and integrate systems with existing internal tools. Additionally, you will participate in technology discussions, employ agile practices, and lead efforts for sprint deliverables. Key Responsibilities: - Perform general application development tasks including unit testing, code deployment, and technical documentation. - Work on one or more projects, contributing to unfamiliar code. - Diagnose and resolve performance issues. - Participate in estimation, use case specifications, test plans reviews, and project planning. - Document code and processes for easy collaboration. - Develop high-scale applications focusing on operational excellence and security. - Apply modern software development practices like serverless computing and microservices architecture. - Integrate systems with existing internal tools. - Participate in technology roadmap discussions. - Triage and resolve product or system issues. - Write, debug, and troubleshoot code in mainstream open-source technologies. - Lead efforts for Sprint deliverables and solve medium-complexity problems. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. - 2+ years of experience in software design and programming languages like Java, Python, and JavaScript. - Proficiency in software build management tools like Maven or Gradle. - Experience with HTML, CSS, and frontend/web development. - Knowledge of software testing, performance, and quality engineering techniques. - Familiarity with Cloud technology like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
