Software Engineer II

You will be joining the Trimble Connect team as a Software Engineer II, where you will primarily focus on backend service development using Java and AWS. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing scalable Java-based microservices with AWS cloud-native patterns. You will take full ownership of backend components to ensure their maintainability, performance, and reliability. Additionally, you will implement and maintain REST APIs to ensure high security, reliability, and usability. Your problem-solving and analytical skills will be crucial in delivering robust technical solutions. Quality assurance will be a key aspect of your role through unit testing, automated testing, and code reviews. You will actively participate across the service lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, monitoring, and support. Troubleshooting and resolving production and customer-reported issues in a timely manner will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with globally distributed teams for planning, estimation, and delivery will be essential. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to a strong engineering culture by sharing knowledge and mentoring peers. Qualifications Required: - 3 - 6 years of professional experience in backend software engineering. - Strong expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot. - Good understanding of microservices architecture and REST API design. - Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, etc. - Strong design and problem-solving skills to create extensible and maintainable services. - Proficiency in SQL/RDBMS like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar. - Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices. - Excellent communication skills with experience working in global teams. - A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies. Nice to Have: - Experience with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines. - Exposure to frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or TypeScript for full-stack flexibility.
