Job Description
You are seeking a Senior Android Engineer (SDE 2/3) to take charge of developing core features in Android apps. Your role involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and cross-platform teams to create a scalable, high-performance mobile experience for teachers and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end development of complex Android features, covering design, architecture, release, and performance monitoring.
- Drive the technical strategy and decisions regarding Android architecture, libraries, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to ensure seamless product experiences.
- Focus on performance tuning and memory optimization for Android applications.
- Lead code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers within the Android team.
- Uphold high standards for code quality, test coverage, and documentation.
- Contribute to fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and excellence within the team.
Key Skills:
- Possess 2+ years of experience in Android development.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack components, and modern app architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).
- Have experience in building apps with a large user base (100k+ DAUs or more).
- Exhibit a deep understanding of performance tuning, background tasks, memory management, and multithreading on Android.
- Show a solid grasp of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and WebSocket-based integrations.
- Have solid experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, Mockito) and CI/CD tools (Bitrise, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Showcase excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Possess strong communication and leadership skills, capable of mentoring and empowering team members.
Good to Have:
- Familiarity with tools like Firebase, Crashlytics, Room DB, Retrofit, Dagger/Hilt, and Jetpack Compose.
- Contributions to open-source Android libraries or active involvement in developer communities.
- Experience with analytics and event tracking tools (Mixpanel, Segment, etc.).
