Job Description
As a Senior Trade Surveillance Analyst at UBS, your role involves handling and interpreting large data sets related to financial transactions, trading strategies, and unusual trading activity. You will be responsible for performing automated and manual market conduct surveillance activities across the Investment Bank and Wealth Management division. Your key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing instances of potentially suspicious activities flagged by surveillance systems.
- Engaging with business stakeholders on market conduct-related escalations and other matters.
- Driving continuous process improvements and contributing to strategic projects and automation/optimization initiatives.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in the Trade Surveillance domain.
- Ample knowledge of Investment Banking and Wealth Management businesses, financial markets, products, and trade lifecycle.
- Firsthand experience in performing market conduct-specific risk assessments and in-depth design reviews of surveillance framework, policies, and procedures.
- Strong compliance mindset and the confidence to question the 'status quo'.
Additionally, you should be:
- Well-versed in investigating and reviewing alerts generated by the SMARTS surveillance system.
- Experienced in conducting market conduct investigations for complex cases and filing reports to external regulatory bodies.
- Proficient in using the SMARTS calibration module and engaging the external surveillance vendor at a technical level.
