Job Description
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data models, schemas, and data warehousing solutions using the Snowflake platform. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing end-to-end data migration processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading into Snowflake (ETL/ELT).
- Leveraging Snowflake-specific features for semi-structured data handling, secure data sharing, and advanced security capabilities.
- Developing, optimizing, and maintaining ETL pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable data movement within Snowflake.
- Optimizing Snowflake configurations and fine-tuning SQL queries to enhance performance and scalability.
- Enforcing data quality controls and implementing security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, including performance bottlenecks and data quality concerns.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored data solutions.
- Creating and maintaining clear technical documentation covering data models, ETL processes, and overall architecture.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- In-depth knowledge of Snowflake architecture, features, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, advanced querying, and performance tuning.
- Skills in designing and implementing data models, including star and snowflake schemas, within Snowflake.
- Experience in ETL/ELT processes and integration tools used with Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience building data ingestion pipelines using tools such as Informatica.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, particularly as they relate to Snowflake's cloud-native platform.
- Capability of diagnosing and resolving performance issues in Snowflake environments and SQL queries.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing code and development workflows.
