Role Overview:
You are being sought after by Agility Robotics for the position of Senior Manufacturing Engineer. As part of this role, you will be responsible for leading sustaining and continuous improvement initiatives within the robotics manufacturing facility. Your primary duties will involve collaborating cross-functionally to enhance production processes, troubleshoot design and assembly issues, implement lean manufacturing strategies, and drive innovation in robotic assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve manufacturing, field, and design issues, focusing on electronic assemblies and components. Support root cause analysis (RCA) and lead corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for nonconformances.
- Lead sustaining engineering efforts by overseeing the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECRs & ECOs) affecting product design, BOMs, and drawings across active product lines.
- Create and maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and more to support production and service operations.
- Develop and implement design updates to enhance manufacturability, resolve production and design issues, and collaborate with various teams for effective solutions.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers for design changes and material substitutions, and oversee supplier testing.
- Assist in debugging functional test fixtures for PCBAs and apply statistical process control methodologies for quality control.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement lean manufacturing solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a commercial manufacturing environment supporting a production line, preferably in robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, mechanisms, PCBAs, and sensors.
- Experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) within Product Lifecycle Management systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Linux, and/or C languages.
- Experience with Altium and/or Creo is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP and MES software.
- Previous experience in developing and implementing manufacturing equipment in production environments is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to lead initiatives independently and within teams.
