Senior Manager Software Engineering - Full Stack Development

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will provide leadership in designing, developing, and deploying state-of-the-art digital products within areas of eCommerce. Your responsibilities include: - Hiring, managing, and mentoring multiple software engineering managers and their teams - Transforming and building a world-class eCommerce application in alignment with CAT Digital Strategy - Identifying, hiring, and building world-class teams of Software Engineers to define, drive, and execute on the strategic vision - Improving/initiating processes for efficient collaboration with local and global teams - Developing teams of highly motivated individuals to collaborate on high-impact initiatives - Designing, building, and owning features and programs to delight dealers/customers - Establishing and maturing product software engineering capability in India Your duties will involve: - Supporting the CAT Digital strategy and delivering service solutions - Managing complex projects with significant impact - Collaborating with product managers to develop a strategy and road map - Developing the best technical design and approach for new product development - Driving engineering best practices around software engineering - Encouraging innovation and implementation of cutting-edge technologies - Prioritizing projects and features, stakeholder management, and tracking commitments - Managing career development of direct reports - Providing technical support and direction to teams - Evaluating problems and providing input into solutions Basic Qualifications: - Four-year degree from an accredited college or university - 15+ years of experience in designing and developing software applications in Full stack (UI in Angular /React) & Java OR - 10 years of experience in full stack (UI in Angular /React) & Java with a master's degree in computer science or related field - 7 years of experience in managing software development teams - 5 years of experience in public cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure Top Candidates Will Also Have: - Demonstrated leadership on medium to large-scale projects - Ability to cope with shifting priorities and timelines - Passion for technology and innovation - Ability to provide guidance on architectural design patterns - Proven experience in software development, architectural patterns, technical expertise, message brokers, datastores, CI/CD tools, Agile framework, design workshops, and computer science fundamentals If you are passionate about technology and innovation, have expertise in software development, and are excited about building world-class eCommerce applications, Caterpillar encourages you to apply.
