Job Description
You are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Telecommunications Network Engineer to join a globally distributed team. This fully remote position provides the flexibility to work from anywhere. Your main responsibility will be the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced telecommunications networks to ensure high availability, performance, and security. Your deep understanding of network protocols, wireless technologies, and fiber optics, along with strong troubleshooting skills, will be essential for success. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust network solutions that align with business objectives is also a key aspect of this role.
- Design, deploy, and maintain various telecommunications networks, including cellular, fiber optic, and satellite communication systems.
- Configure and manage network hardware like routers, switches, firewalls, and base stations.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
- Develop and implement network security measures to safeguard against threats and ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid restoration of services.
- Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to ensure smooth network operations.
- Stay updated on the latest telecommunications technology advancements and industry best practices.
- Participate in capacity planning and network upgrades to meet future demands.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other teams on network-related matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications network engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, and switching technologies.
- Experience with wireless technologies (e.g., 4G/LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi) and familiarity with fiber optic network design and deployment.
- Proficiency in network simulation and analysis tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or similar are highly desirable.
