Job Description

You would be responsible for the overall accounting and administration, compliance assurance related work for projects implemented in your respective Zone. You will be held accountable for managing statutory compliances applicable to various financial transactions of the project and ensuring the quality of records and secure keeping. **Main Responsibilities:** - **Financial Accounting** - Strengthen the review, challenge, and recommendation process on all zonal financial transactions and reports. - Manage general accounting functions including transaction posting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxation. - Ensure timely and accurate posting of all transactions in SAP. - **Budget and Cash Management** - Support preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. - Analyze budget versus actual expenditures and support the preparation of MIS reports. - **Financial Monitoring & Audits** - Conduct financial monitoring of projects through field visits to ensure proper fund utilization and timely project implementation. - Coordinate and submit vouchers, financial data, and information required for audits. - **Compliance** - Ensure compliance with FCRA regulations, Income Tax Act, GST, and other statutory requirements. - Support timely submission of statutory returns including PT, PF, TDS, Income Tax, FCRA, etc. - **Financial Reporting & Analysis** - Prepare internal financial reports on a monthly basis, including forecasts and early warnings for potential budget overruns. - Prepare and submit donor/program financial reports as per prescribed formats and timelines. - **Procurement & Office Administration** - Ensure procurement processes are followed in line with organizational policies. - Provide complete and accurate documentation for vendor agreements, purchase order preparation, and renewals. - **Team Management & Capacity Building** - Provide technical guidance and oversight to finance staff. - Conduct orientation and capacity building of finance and accounts staff on financial management and compliance requirements. **Skills & Competencies:** - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - High attention to detail and compliance orientation - Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines - Excellent coordination and communication skills - Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP BI reports, and documentation systems **Qualification & Experience:** - CA/MBA/PGDM (Finance)/M.Com from a recognized university - 612 years of finance experience, including 46 years in a senior/zonal role - Strong exposure to SAP/ERP, budgeting, MIS, and donor-funded projects - Sound knowledge of statutory compliances (IT, GST, PF, PT, TDS, FCRA) and audits - Experience in team supervision and NGO/INGO or development sector preferred Plan India is an equal opportunity employer and encourages qualified women candidates to apply.
