Product Owner - Private Markets

As a member of the Private Markets Data Stewardship team at S&P Global, you will play a crucial role in delivering research, content, and analytics about private capital markets to clients in the Private Equity & Venture Capital and alternative asset class firms. Your work will support deal sourcing, fundraising, data exploration, and valuation analysis for institutional investors, money managers, and investment banking professionals. A key responsibility will be to support the development of new solutions for datasets across various data delivery channels, covering both self-sourced data and data purchased from third-party vendors. **Responsibilities:** - Own scrum backlog, define features, and prioritize user stories to maximize value for end users. - Translate detailed business requirements from Private Markets stakeholders into user stories and technical needs for the scrum team. - Assist in managing scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, execution, grooming, and sprint review in collaboration with the scrum master. - Communicate with stakeholders about the product roadmap, blockers, timelines, and request status for smooth scrum functioning. - Manage end-to-end delivery of Private Markets data projects, including requirements gathering, research & analysis, work sizing, vision & roadmap development, and collaboration with Technology and Product teams on implementation. - Develop business logics to integrate and transform various Private Capital Markets data facets into internal data structures, perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and work with Agile Technology teams on project design. - Analyze large amounts of data from third-party providers using SQL knowledge, identify inconsistencies, and propose solutions for S&P Global products. - Support Business-As-Usual (BAU) and client requests across all dataset areas. **Essential Qualifications:** - 7+ years of work experience in Data Strategy, management & governance, preferably in a financial market data intensive environment. - Sound knowledge of backend infrastructure and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). - Strong command of writing and developing SQL Queries. - Good understanding of S&P Products such as Capital IQ Pro, Capital IQ, Excel Plug-In, feeds, etc. - Proven track record of successful delivery of complex projects in content-related domains. - Ability to work collaboratively across segments and cultures. - Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills. - Effective communication and presentation skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Familiarity with Private Capital Markets Data. - Experience as a Product Owner or working with agile scrum teams. - Project Management/Product Owner/Agile/Data Management Related Certification. - Knowledge of Visualization Tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.). - Experience in Data Mining, Analysis, AI/ML/Automation. - Basic understanding of Python.
