Job Description
As a NOCC Engineer at our company, your primary role will be to monitor and maintain network systems, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting any incidents that may arise. You will work closely with Incident Management, IT teams, and 3rd party service providers to guarantee the availability of all systems and applications to both internal users and external members.
**Roles and Responsibilities:**
- Actively monitor and troubleshoot incidents related to Global Network infrastructure and services, ensuring optimal performance.
- Act as first responders to organize and control incident response and troubleshoot issues.
- Monitor all consoles and respond immediately to alerts generated from monitoring tools, engaging in thorough investigation.
- Timely update, escalate, and resolve network tickets.
- Perform daily Health Checks for the Network, ensuring Network Uptime and service availability as per SLA.
- Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and carrier/circuit providers.
- Implement standard network changes.
- Collaborate with Leads and Specialists for the implementation of Migration/Upgrade Activities.
- Engage in the commissioning and decommissioning of network equipment, services, and circuits.
- Document SOPs, KBAs, RCAs, and network diagrams.
- Mandatory requirement: CCNA/Equivalent certification (within 6 months of joining if not certified already).
**Desired Skills:**
- Proficiency in Routing & Switching (TCP/IP, Routing protocols like OSPF & BGP, IP addressing, DDI protocols).
- 8-12 years of experience.
- Good understanding of Cisco & Arista Routers and Switches for diagnostics and initial troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Wireless Standards & Security features for diagnostics and initial troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform advanced routing/switching and FW troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Palo Alto and/or Fortinet Operations, with the ability to check routing and firewall rules, as well as analyze traffic logs.
- Familiarity with Monitoring Tools like SolarWinds/Splunk etc.
- Basic understanding of GCP Cloud.
- Basic knowledge of polling methods like SNMP/ICMP/WMI/Agents etc.
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure to effectively escalate issues to the appropriate team/individual.
- Ability to support IT Teams as needed and collaborate closely with vendors.
- Comfortable working weekend shifts.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple alerts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and work effectively as part of a team.
**Valuable To Have:**
- Understanding of GlobalProtect Operations, with the ability to analyze user logs and troubleshoot.
- Knowledge of Configuring, Monitoring, and tracking Alerts generated by different Monitoring Systems (Solarwinds, Splunk, etc.).
- Familiarity with Jira Software for project and issue tracking, managing agile workflows, and Confluence for knowledge base and articles.
- Understanding of Multicast concepts like PIM-SM, MSDP, AnyCastRP.
- Knowledge of F5 Load balancer techniques.
- Understanding of VPN techniques such as GRE, IPSec, and SSL.
- Familiarity with scripting language/tools such as Python/Ansible/Terraform.
