Job Description
As a Day-1 Support - Network Specialist at our company, your primary responsibility will be to provide hands-on network deployment, onboarding, and initial operational support for enterprise network infrastructure. You will need to leverage your strong L2/L3 networking expertise and experience with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) to ensure seamless network operations. Additionally, your role will involve collaborating closely with remote engineering teams while providing on-site physical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Day-1 network support for newly deployed network infrastructure.
- Perform staging, onboarding, and provisioning of network devices.
- Onboard Fabric Edge switches using Cisco DNA Center (DNAC).
- Validate configurations against approved Network Design Documents (NDD) and Network Requirement Documents (NRD).
Network Configuration & Operations:
- Configure and support L2/L3 switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Perform firmware and OS upgrades on network devices.
- Assign and validate IP addressing, VLANs, and basic routing.
- Enable and verify remote access for network appliances.
- Support basic routing protocols and network connectivity validation.
Onsite Physical Network Support:
- Provide on-demand physical support for network troubleshooting.
- Connect and manage patch cables to designated core and access switches as per design.
- Coordinate with remote L2/L3 teams during troubleshooting and deployment.
- Perform hardware health checks and cable tracing when required.
Troubleshooting & Coordination:
- Assist in identifying and resolving network connectivity issues during Day-1 go-live.
- Work closely with NOC, remote engineers, and vendors for issue resolution.
- Escalate complex issues with proper documentation and logs.
- Ensure smooth handover from Day-1 deployment to steady-state operations.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Follow and validate configurations as per NRD/NDD.
- Update deployment and troubleshooting documentation.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise network standards and processes.
- Support change and incident management processes during deployment.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills (Must Have):
- Strong hands-on experience with L2 & L3 Switching, Routing, Firewalls.
- Experience with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC): Fabric Edge switch onboarding, Device provisioning.
- Hands-on experience in Firmware/OS upgrades, IP address assignment, Remote access enablement.
- Good understanding of NRD / NDD.
Soft Skills:
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with remote and onsite teams.
- Detail-oriented and process-driven.
- Ability to respond quickly during go-live or critical deployment windows.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree or Diploma in IT / Computer Science / Electronics / Telecommunications.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA / CCNP are preferred.
Experience:
- 47 years of hands-on experience in network deployment, operations, or support.
- Experience working in enterprise, data center, or campus network environments.
- Prior exposure to Day-1 / Deployment / Migration support is highly desirable.
Work Environment:
- Onsite role based in Hyderabad Gachibowli.
- May require extended hours or weekend support during deployments.
