Job Description
As a Network Engineer at Magna International in Bangalore, India, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing advanced network monitoring solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of the IT infrastructure across a complex global environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and managing Cisco-based network solutions, such as routing, switching, and wireless networks.
- Configuring and maintaining network devices like routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Utilizing Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and security policy enforcement.
- Managing and optimizing network performance using Cisco Catalyst Center.
- Implementing and managing common network technologies like VLANs, VTP, BGP, SD-WAN, and Spanning Tree.
- Designing and deploying wireless networks, including conducting wireless surveys for optimal coverage and performance.
- Troubleshooting and resolving network issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Monitoring network performance and security, and implementing necessary improvements.
- Collaborating with other IT team members to support and enhance the overall network infrastructure.
- Developing and maintaining network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Staying current with industry trends and advancements in network technologies.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco routing, switching, and wireless networks.
- Strong experience with Cisco ISE and Cisco Catalyst Center.
- Proficiency in common network technologies such as VLANs, VTP, BGP, SD-WAN, and Spanning Tree.
- Experience in network design, implementation, and active and passive network components.
- CCNA, CCNP certifications are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with Fortinet firewalls.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management.
