Job Description
As a Moodle Mobile App Developer, you will be responsible for developing and customizing mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms connected to the Moodle LMS ecosystem. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining mobile applications integrated with Moodle LMS
- Customizing and extending Moodle Mobile App features based on business requirements
- Working with REST APIs / Web Services for Moodle integration
- Developing cross-platform apps using frameworks like Ionic Framework, React Native, or native technologies
- Collaborating with backend teams (PHP/Moodle developers) for seamless integration
- Implementing UI/UX designs and ensuring responsive layouts
- Debugging, testing, and optimizing mobile applications for performance and scalability
- Publishing apps on Google Play Store and Apple App Store
- Handling app updates, versioning, and bug fixes
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Android (Java/Kotlin), iOS (Swift/Objective-C), or cross-platform frameworks (Ionic / React Native / Flutter)
- Experience with Moodle Web Services & APIs
- Basic knowledge of PHP and Moodle architecture
- Familiarity with JSON and REST API integration
- Experience with Git/version control systems
- Understanding of the mobile app lifecycle and deployment
Preferred skills that would be beneficial for this role include:
- Experience customizing Moodle plugins or themes
- Knowledge of offline sync in mobile apps (important for LMS apps)
- Familiarity with push notifications (Firebase/APNS)
- Experience with UI frameworks like Angular (for Ionic apps)
- Understanding of LMS workflows including courses, quizzes, assignments, and grades
