A Maintenance Technician ensures the operational efficiency and safety of facilities, machinery, and equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. They handle electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems, requiring technical expertise and, often, certifications (HVAC, PLC). Core tasks include regular inspections, urgent repairs, and meticulous record-keeping to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance: Conducting routine checks and servicing equipment (lubricating, cleaning, replacing parts) to prevent breakdowns.
Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing issues with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Facility Upkeep: Performing repairs on building structures, including painting, carpentry, and drywall.
Safety & Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety protocols (PPE, OSHA) and maintaining a clean work environment.
Documentation: Recording maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory usage.
Emergency Response: Responding to urgent service calls and repairs.
