Java Backend Developer

As a Java Backend Developer at Allstate, your role involves implementing applications following 12-factor principles to build out the product and iterative enhancements. You will be responsible for owning the full stack of software products, developing and implementing frontends (web or mobile), and backend services. Your expertise in test-driven development and continuous integration will ensure agility and quality in the products you deliver. Additionally, you will actively participate in the decision-making process within the team to choose the simplest appropriate technology and design to meet user needs. **Key Responsibilities:** - Participate in iteration planning meetings to ensure a common understanding of each story and chores in the team's backlog. - Collaborate within the team in designing systems and apps. - Engage in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups. - Contribute to retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items for team and product improvement. - Support software products in user environments. - Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to the overall growth of the team's collective knowledge. - Practice daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building products. - Establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices. **Qualifications Required:** - Education: 4-year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred). - Experience: 3 or more years of experience (Preferred).
