Job Description
As an Analyst in Investment Management Finance at Morgan Stanley, you will be a part of a team dedicated to supporting Morgan Stanley's Investment Management segment (MSIM), a global asset manager across public and private markets. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with colleagues in Finance and across the Firm, developing an understanding of Finance tools and processes, and preparing journal entries for expenses, trade errors, and interest recognition. You will be expected to proactively improve operational efficiency, interpret large volumes of data, and assist with quarterly invoicing distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
- Develop an understanding of Finance tools and processes
- Prepare journal entries for expenses, trade errors, and interest recognition
- Improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Interpret large volumes of data
- Assist with quarterly invoicing distribution
Qualifications Required:
- Willingness to learn Finance principles, tools, and systems
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelors degree in finance or accounting, CPA preferred
- 3+ years of related work experience preferred
- Results-oriented with the capacity to work at a strategic and detailed analysis level
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally on projects and initiatives
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as PowerBI, Alteryx, IBM Cognos/TM1, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Effective time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Bank regulatory reporting experience is a plus
