As an Intermediate Software Developer at Evertz, you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling backend services for broadcasting platforms. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance systems. **Key Responsibilities:** - Participate in design discussions with stakeholders for adding or improving features - Take features from scoping requirements to actual launch on the cloud platform - Design and document requirements, features, and APIs - Collaborate closely with UI and QA teams - Work with the SRE team to enhance system observability and incident response - Develop high-quality, well-tested code meeting deployment standards - Participate in code reviews, continuous learning, and mentor junior engineers **Qualification Requirements:** - 34 years of professional software development experience - At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Python - 3 years of experience developing REST APIs, with at least 1 year using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway - Experience with AWS services such as IAM, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and EC2 - Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, and security groups - Experience writing Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform) - Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills - Passion for writing unit tests and delivering high-quality software - Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices **Nice to Have:** - Exposure to OpenTelemetry or distributed tracing tools - Experience working with API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger) - Basic understanding of end-to-end testing frameworks Evertz is a leading global manufacturer of broadcast equipment and solutions.
