Job Description
You will be working with Qualcomm on an exciting new product line for machine learning inference acceleration in the cloud. Your role as an experienced power electronics engineer will involve various aspects of product development including specifying board level power design, power management products, and voltage regulator (VR) selection, development, programming, debug, as well as post-silicon board/SoC test validation and power correlation to ensure system-level performance and power metrics are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in power electronics, power management, control interfaces, thermal analysis, power distribution networks, PCB layout, and industry standard interfaces
- Familiarity with multi-phase buck, boost, intermediate bus converters, LDO regulators, eFuse, hot-swap controllers, voltage level-translators, and telemetry
- Utilize design and simulation tools like SIMPLIS, MATLAB, or other industry VR simulation tools
- Collaborate with power, system, and board architecture colleagues to meet SoC requirements
- Provide schematic/layout guidance and conduct design reviews
- Work with internal simulation teams to ensure signal and power integrity
- Develop and execute board validation test plans, analyze test results, and provide feedback for improvements
- Support SoC, software, and firmware teams during development
- Stay updated on industry technology trends and provide technical expertise for next-generation initiatives
Qualification Required:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of Hardware Engineering experience, OR
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of Hardware Engineering experience, OR
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 1+ year of Hardware Engineering experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
