Job Description

As the Early Years Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing academic and pastoral leadership to the Early Years section. Your role will involve ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young learners. You will focus on high-quality program implementation, teacher mentoring, student well-being, parent engagement, and collaborating closely with school leadership to support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pedagogical & Administrative Leadership
  • Mentor and support Early Years teachers through regular classroom observations and structured feedback.
  • Promote collaborative teaching practices by facilitating peer observations and reflective discussions.
  • Ensure teachers have access to appropriate teaching materials, curriculum resources, and learning tools.
  • Participate actively in the Early Years admissions process in collaboration with the Admissions team and school leadership.
  • Ensure training and effective use of the LMS (Toddle) and relevant educational software for new and existing staff.
  • Monitor LMS data to ensure unit plans and documentation are current and aligned with timelines.
  • Communication & Parent Engagement
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of School and Deputy Head of School on Early Years progress and developments.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with parents through written correspondence and meetings.
  • Escalate concerns appropriately and work collaboratively to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate and support parent meetings, Early Years events, and internal communications.
  • Ensure timely sharing of program information, progress reports, and student portfolios with parents.
  • Student Well-being & Safeguarding
  • Ensure child safety, safeguarding, and well-being are central to all Early Years initiatives.
  • Monitor student progress and support teachers in addressing developmental and learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records related to student progress, well-being, and program compliance.
  • Professional Development
  • Lead curriculum induction for new Early Years teachers.
  • Identify professional development needs in consultation with school leadership.
  • Plan and facilitate internal and external professional development opportunities.
  • Review and coordinate professional development applications and registrations.
  • Curriculum Oversight
  • Ensure teachers have access to relevant Early Years curriculum documentation.
  • Support teachers in curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment practices.
  • Maintain updated curriculum documentation and oversee curriculum review processes.
  • Support continuous curriculum development aligned with school expectations and best practices.
  • Documentation & Resource Management
  • Maintain accurate records of correspondence, reports, and program documentation.
  • Support curriculum resource planning and professional development budgeting.
  • Coordinate workshop payments and related administrative requirements with the Finance team.
  • Prepare and submit documentation required for authorization, evaluation, and accreditation.
  • Ensure full compliance with program requirements and procedures.

Eligibility & Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience, preferably within Early Years.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Early Years program structures and best practices.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in educational leadership within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of international accreditation, inspection, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Strong alignment with the Schools Mission, Vision, and Values.
