Job Description
You are looking for a Data Engineer to join the Data Science team in Mumbai office. Your role will involve building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring high data quality, and enabling efficient data access for machine learning and analytics use cases.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and processing from various sources.
- Build and manage data lakes, data warehouses, and curated data layers to support analytics and machine learning applications.
- Optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval mechanisms for large-scale datasets.
- Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and enable easy access to high-quality datasets.
- Develop ETL/ELT workflows for batch and near real-time data processing.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring frameworks.
- Support the development of feature engineering pipelines for machine learning models.
- Build automation frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows.
- Develop pipelines through web scraping and API integrations.
**Qualifications & Experience/Skills:**
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
- Hands-on experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark / PySpark.
- Working experience with relational databases and data warehouses (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.).
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and related data services.
- Proficiency in BI tools like PowerBI, Qlik.
- Exposure to data modeling, data quality frameworks, and pipeline monitoring tools.
- Basic understanding of machine learning pipelines and MLOps workflows.
- Familiarity with real-time data processing or streaming platforms like Kafka and event-based systems.
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), data engineering, or big data technologies will be an added advantage.
- 24 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics engineering, or backend data development.
- Hands-on experience in building data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data infrastructure.
- Previous experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud-based data platforms.
- Exposure to supporting data science teams or ML pipelines is preferred.
