Data Scientist / Statistician

As a Data Scientist / Statistician (Python) for the TATA Himachal THR Project at St. John's Research Institute in Bangalore, your main responsibility will be to improve the anthropometric nutritional status of children aged 0.6-3 years in a district of Himachal Pradesh through testing an appropriate THR. The project involves large-scale implementation in 2 districts and capacity building for appropriate technologies within the ICDS system. **Roles And Responsibilities:** - Develop, validate, and deploy statistical and machine learning models. - Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights. - Clean, preprocess, and transform structured and unstructured datasets for analysis and modeling. - Apply statistical techniques such as regression, hypothesis testing, and time-series and longitudinal data analysis. - Build and optimize predictive and classification models using machine learning algorithms. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality and best practices. - Assist in writing and maintaining Python backend code for integrating models into Mobile/Web applications. - Maintain clear documentation for data workflows, models, experiments, and performance metrics. **Qualifications:** - MSc Statistics or MSc Data Science.
