Job Description
As a Credit Analyst specializing in Financial Institutions within the Banking Domain, you will be responsible for in-depth credit analysis of various financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, asset managers, broker-dealers, and funds. Your future employer is a leading global research and risk analytics platform that supports international financial institutions in counterparty credit risk assessment, financial research, and risk intelligence.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform counterparty credit risk assessment for global financial institutions, including banks, insurers, asset managers, broker-dealers, and funds
- Prepare detailed credit risk assessment reports covering various aspects like operating environment, business profile, financial strength, management strategy, market-implied indicators, and external support
- Develop, update, and maintain financial models, spreads, and risk metrics using market databases and public filings
- Assign internal credit ratings using proprietary credit frameworks and apply informed judgment when necessary
- Track market events, macro developments, and regulatory changes to assess their impact on the coverage portfolio
- Confidently defend credit views and recommendations before senior stakeholders and clients
- Support project managers on ad-hoc credit risk and research assignments
- Contribute to industry research, country analysis, database maintenance, and news flow preparation
- Mentor and train junior team members on credit risk concepts and analytical frameworks
**Qualifications Required:**
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in counterparty credit risk assessment or credit research
- Mandatory experience in fundamental analysis of financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, asset managers, broker-dealers, and funds
- Solid understanding of core finance, accounting, and financial statement analysis
- Excellent credit report writing and communication skills
- Ability to independently assess counterparties without reliance on third-party research
- Understanding of global banking regulations and risk frameworks is preferred
- Ability to articulate and defend analytical views with senior stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills, team orientation, and willingness to work extended hours during tight deadlines
**Education Qualification:**
- CA / MBA (Finance) / CFA / FRM / PGDBM
