AM/DM-Over The Air(OTA) Software Engineer

As an Automotive Over-the-Air (OTA) Software Update Professional, your role involves researching technologies required for developing Automotive OTA software update system, studying customer needs, benefits to OEM, and business cases for OTA, and collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Product Planning, Quality Assurance, and other Design/development teams. Key Responsibilities: - Designing the architecture of Over-The-Air Software Update System according to different vehicle E/E architecture variants across the vehicle lineup - Creating requirements & specifications for End-to-End OTA system implementation across various in-vehicle systems/controllers and over cloud infrastructure - Documenting architectural concepts, feature/function flow diagrams, and design implementation - Supporting deployment of requirements/specifications with internal and external stakeholders - Ensuring performance quality of the system through validation at different levels - Establishing testing/validation infrastructure and procedures - Analyzing root causes for reported issues during testing/validation and implementing countermeasures - Ensuring adherence to a secure-by-design approach and identifying compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and guidelines - Evaluating alternate approaches/systems through workshops and Proof-of-Concept projects - Tracking and reporting project status to senior leadership Competency Requirements: Technical/Functional: OTA - Working knowledge of Over-the-Air Software update technologies - Understanding of automotive E/E Architecture - Knowledge of Connected Vehicle architecture and Telematics feature/functions - Familiarity with computer networking and OSI model - Experience with OTA server and in-car function components of OTA - Understanding of security and regulation requirements relevant to OTA and Connected vehicles Hardware - Understanding of controllers' function in the vehicle environment - Knowledge of Micro-controller, Micro-processor, and SoC devices and their architecture - Knowledge of multi-core platforms and Hypervisor Software - Experience with embedded software architecture and development - Knowledge of automotive OS such as Auto-Grade Linux, QNX, RTOS, etc. - Understanding of software structure for embedded systems like BSW, configuration, Calibration, etc. - Knowledge of software differential and compression technologies Cybersecurity - Awareness of cybersecurity assets in automotive and associated risks - Understanding of cybersecurity properties like Confidentiality, Integrity, Authentication in the automotive domain - Experience with cybersecurity-related functions and technologies like signing, hashing, Encryption/Decryption, TLS, PKI, etc. Software Development - Experience of Embedded Software development lifecycle for automotive systems and functions - Understanding of modern software development concepts from platforms like Linux, Android, and IoT Verification & Validation - Experience with Software/function verification on Bench and Vehicle - Working experience of creating test check sheets from system specification and use-case flow Diagnostics & Communication Protocols - Experience with UDS/KWP2000/DoIP for OTA and wired re-flashing functions - Knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet Communication protocols Tools - Experience of ECU testing and electrical/electronic troubleshooting - Knowledge of operating analysis tools like Vector CANoe, CANalyzer Standards - Working knowledge of Automotive Software Update standard ISO 24089, Cyber Security standard ISO/SAE 21434, Functional Safety ISO 26262, APSICE, Information Security ISO 27001 - Understanding of UNECE regulations UN R155 & R156 and their implementation framework Language - Knowledge of Japanese language would be an added advantage Educational Requirement: Essential - B.E / B.
